Benick took an older Phoenix Duplex Slitter Rewinder and converted it to run slip core winding from the original lock core only configuration. We added a pair of 3” indirect friction air differential ball lock rewind shafts. We also made special modifications to run 62” material on this 60” wide machine. We then added a hot knife slitting system. Because this machine was originally built to run with “razors in air” only, we had to add a hardened platen roll and a new belt drive. finally we went through our standard Level 3 Rebuild on the Phoenix.
